How to Store & Use Everything in Your Produce Box

You open your box and it’s packed with beautiful, fresh food. Now what?
We’ve got you. Here’s how to store, prep, and use your Harvest Box items so nothing goes to waste—and everything stays fresher, longer.
🥬 Greens & Lettuce
Storage Tip: Wrap loosely in a damp paper towel and store in a sealed container or produce bag in the fridge.
Use First: Leafy greens like spinach, arugula, or salad mix are most perishable—plan to use within 3–5 days.
Bonus Idea: Wilt them into a stir-fry, soup, or frittata if they’re starting to soften.
🍓 Berries
Storage Tip: Don’t wash until ready to eat. Store in a breathable container in the fridge.
Shelf Life: 2–3 days for peak freshness.
Bonus Idea: Toss soft berries into smoothies or freeze them for later.
🥕 Root Veggies (Carrots, Beets, Radishes)
Storage Tip: Cut off any greens and store roots in a sealed bag or container in the fridge crisper.
Greens Tip: Radish or beet greens can be sautéed like kale! Don’t toss them.
Shelf Life: 1–2 weeks or more.
🍅 Tomatoes
Storage Tip: Store at room temp, away from direct sunlight. Never refrigerate.
Use: Eat raw, roast, or toss in pasta.
Shelf Life: 3–5 days depending on ripeness.
🥒 Cucumbers, Peppers & Zucchini
Storage Tip: Keep in the fridge crisper drawer, loosely wrapped.
Use: Great raw, roasted, grilled, or spiralized into noodles.
Shelf Life: Up to 1 week.
🥔 Potatoes & Onions
Storage Tip: Cool, dark, and dry spot (not the fridge). Keep them separate—onions can make potatoes sprout faster.
Shelf Life: Several weeks.

Quick Wash Tip
Wash fruits and veggies under cool water right before eating. For leafy greens, soak in a bowl with a splash of vinegar, then rinse and spin dry.
